Platform Management: Event Ticketing and Food Preorder Up-Sell
Event Ticketing Project:
Every year, Austin’s local hot-spot Mozart’s Coffee Roasters hosts a Christmas Light Show which runs all holiday season and brings in hundreds of tourists and locals.
In 2020 they needed help developing a new system which would allow them to limit the capacity and allow for social distancing. We helped them develop a system with ticket registration, assigned seats, and food pre-orders. The systems we implemented helped them register more than 20,000 ticket-holders in 2020, with 900 food orders. In 2021 we helped them scale up on a new system to include both reserved seating and general admission, increasing attendance to more than 70,000 and food pre-orders to more than 6,000.
Project Goals:
A reserved-seating ticket system for an event with 6 showings per night for 55 nights.
Clickable custom seating chart to demonstrate the layout of all 66 tables for accurate seat selection
Tickets with QR codes for easy onsite check-in
Product pre-orders and Up-sells
Project Delivery:
We developed ticketing systems for our client on TicketTailor (2020) and ShowClix (2021)
We helped create 330 occurrences of our client's event with 4 price tiers, 12 product up-sells, and a clickable seating chart to match our client's real-world space.
We created accompanying landingpages on our client's Shopify site.
Shopify Customizations
We worked with Mozart’s Coffee to find an appropriate platform for the first year’s ticketed event, then scale up to accommodate additional features and functions as needed. In the first year of the event, this included a custom on-site landing page for collecting food pre-orders.
This required the following work within Shopify:
custom shopify landingpage
custom Shopify checkout fields (to collect required ticket details)
custom shopify product type to accommodate easy up-sell product reporting
With this method, our client collected ~900 up-sell orders
Project highlights:
%
Greater than 95% Occupancy in 2020 and 2021
